Enhance Your Natural Look: Rejuvenating Your Appearance with a Brow or Facelift

Considering a facelift or brow lift? Wondering if you’d make a good candidate for these procedures? Want to know what to expect from surgery and recovery? Learn how facelifts and brow lifts from Pinnacle ENT Associates can help enhance your natural appearance.

Facelifts and brow lifts have become popular cosmetic procedures for those looking to enhance their natural appearance and reduce the signs of aging. If you’re considering one of these procedures, you’re in good company — facelifts were among the top five cosmetic surgeries in 2020, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

At Pinnacle ENT Associates, we understand that choosing to undergo plastic surgery is a deeply personal decision, and we’re here to help you find the procedure that best suits your individual needs.

What is a Facelift?

A facelift, or rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure designed to reduce the signs of aging in the face and neck areas. The procedure involves tightening facial muscles, removing excess fat, and trimming sagging skin to create a more youthful look. While the results typically last around 10 years, it’s important to note that a facelift cannot alter your fundamental appearance or halt the natural aging process.

What is a Brow Lift?

A brow lift is a surgical procedure designed to reduce wrinkles around the forehead, nose, and eyes while improving frown lines and lifting sagging eyebrows. By raising the tissue and skin of the forehead, a brow lift can help create a more refreshed and youthful look. This procedure is an effective option for those looking to enhance their natural appearance while addressing signs of aging in the upper face.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Facelift or Brow Lift?

Typically, the ideal candidates for facelifts and brow lifts are going to be:

  • Individuals with skin that still has elasticity and well-defined bone structure
  • Those without medical conditions that could impact the healing process
  • Nonsmokers who have realistic expectations and are seeking the procedures for personal reasons rather than as a response to external pressures

During your consultation, our expert fellow ship-trained doctors and team will assess your health, skin condition, and desired outcomes before crafting a personalized solution for you.

How Are These Surgeries Performed?

Before surgery, our medical team will discuss and explain this procedure in detail, including the results you can expect and any potential complications that might arise. Here’s a brief overview of what to expect:

Facelift

This surgery typically takes several hours to complete. After administering anesthesia, your surgeon will make incisions based on the specific type of facelift:

  • Traditional Facelift: Incisions start at the temples, continue around the ear, and end at the lower scalp.
  • Limited Facelift: For patients with minimal skin relaxation, shorter incisions are made at the temples and around the ear.
  • Neck Lift: These incisions begin near the earlobe and extend behind the ear

After a facelift, the incisions are closed with sutures or skin glue and blended to fit naturally into the hairline and facial contours as they heal.

Brow Lift

Once anesthesia is administered, your surgeon will make one of the following incisions:

  • Endoscopic Incision: Small incisions are made along the hairline
  • Coronal Incision: A longer incision is made, ear to ear, across the top of the head and is concealed within the hair

The incision is then closed with sutures, skin adhesive, or medical clips to ensure minimal scarring.

What Can I Expect After a Brow or Facelift?

Following the procedure, our team will provide you with instructions on how to care for yourself post-surgery. Initial wound healing usually takes one to two weeks, but it can take up to several months to fully regain normal skin texture and sensitivity, especially for facelifts. Overall results begin to show in as little as a month, with full results appearing gradually as the swelling decreases and the incisions begin to heal.
